Description des services: Outpatient clinic and outreach services to patients with arthritis and related diseases to reduce pain, disability and joint damage * educates patients about their diseases to help them live active and satisfying lives

Staff includes:

conducts research in areas such as:
  • rheumatoid arthritis
  • osteoarthritis
  • scleroderma
  • other connective tissues diseases



Related diseases include:
  • rheumatoid arthritis (chronic inflammatory disorder)
  • psoriatic arthritis (type of inflammatory disorder * usually appears in people living with psoriasis skin disease)
  • ankylosing spondylitis and other seronegative arthritis (type of inflammatory arthritis and autoimmune disease)
  • reactive arthritis (inflammatory arthritis that develops in reaction to an infection by bacteria)
  • gout (recurrent attacks of acute inflammatory arthritis that cause sudden burning pain, stiffness, and swelling in a joint)
  • scleroderma (group of rare diseases that involve the hardening and tightening of the skin and connective tissues)
  • lupus (chronic inflammatory disease that occurs when the body's immune system attacks its own tissues and organs)
